ARTS RECOVERY FUND

ABOUT THE FUND

The Marin Cultural Association is proud to announce the launch of the Arts Recovery Fund. With support from a broad coalition of funders, the Recovery Fund will provide flexible funding through a variety of grants to enable Marin's creative sector to recover from its devastating COVID-19 losses and help ensure a rich cultural future for our community.

ELIGIBILITY

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

 

All grants offered under the Recovery Fund for the first grant will have the following minimum eligibility requirements.

 

  • Must be an arts organization operating in Marin County

  • Must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit or have a qualified fiscal sponsor

  • Must be suffering adverse economic effects due to COVID-19

 

Basic Funding Criteria:

 

A diverse and changing panel of Marin artists and arts leaders will evaluate all applications by eligible organizations on the basis of the following criteria:

  • Severity of pandemic-related losses

  • Cultural benefits to community at large

  • Cultural equity benefits (to economically disadvantaged communities of color and/or other underserved communities within the County)

  • Organizational professionalism and effectiveness

  • Sufficiency/quality of documentation

Additional Requirements or Criteria for Targeted Grants:

 

Additional eligibility requirements or funding criteria may apply for certain grants aimed at addressing the elevated and/or unique needs of particular populations, sectors, locations, etc.

GRANTS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE

CARES Equity Grants

 

With seed funding from the California Arts Council, MCA is able to offer a limited number of grants, ranging from $500 to $5,000, to arts organizations that reflect and serve Marin’s disadvantaged communities of color that have been hardest hit by the pandemic.

 

 

Eligibility:

  • Must be an arts related organization located in Marin County

  • Must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit or have a qualified fiscal sponsor

  • Must be suffering adverse economic effects due to COVID-19

  • Must be dedicated, in substantial part, to serving Marin’s disadvantaged communities of color

 

Important Dates:

  • Online application portal opens on October 2, 2020 and closes on November 11, 2020 at 5pm

  • Grant awards will be announced on December 18, 2020 following review by a community grants

Pandemic Recovery Grants
