Bolinas Museum

Two Shows Open March 29 with Live Music and Food, On View Through May 17

an art gallery with displayed ceramics and artwork on walls

Bolinas Museum serves as a cultural anchor for coastal Marin, weaving together contemporary art, local history, and community life in an intimate, place-rooted setting. As both steward and catalyst, the museum preserves the layered histories of the coast while creating space for artists, musicians, and neighbors to gather and exchange ideas. Through exhibitions, artist talks, live music, pop-up food experiences, and public performances, Bolinas Museum treats the arts not as passive entertainment but as an active, structural force in how the community gathers, supports one another, and imagines what comes next.

In April, the Bolinas Museum has two concurrent exhibitions running from March 28 through May 17, 2026:

Anthology of Unknown Music, Volume 1, curated by Noelle Hiam, centers on an imagined archive of fictional bands created by artist Sonny Smith, bringing together original songs, collaborative LP covers by more than thirty artists, and Smith's ceramic and multimedia works in an installation that moves between sound, sculpture, and storytelling.

Alongside it, Making the Cut III: Waz Thomas presents a solo exhibition of works on paper by Bolinas-based artist Waz Thomas, featuring the artist's signature ironic juxtapositions. Both shows open with a free public celebration on Sunday, March 29, from 5 to 7 PM, with live music by Danny Dusk & the Twilights and food and beverage provided by Loba Earth, available for purchase.
